Figurative (Realistic) Drawing 6-week Course
May 10th - June 14th | Saturdays 2:30pm-4:30pm
For all skill levels, including beginners with no experience.
This 6-week drawing course is perfect for anyone with a serious interest in learning to draw figuratively or realistically. We begin class with a lesson, then students move on to their personal drawing projects for the remainder of the class. This is an “atelier” style, process-based drawing program with a focus on “learning to see.” The goal is to capture the 3 dimensional world around us on a 2 dimensional surface with a high degree of craftsmanship and precision. Commitment to seeing deeply and being in the moment is the goal.
Students will learn drawing concepts and techniques that include: pattern recognition, subject enveloping, blocking in shapes, value, proportion, spatial relationships, sighting, measuring, checking for accuracy, and a lot more!
