Learn the fundamentals of watercolor painting AND drawing!

This 6-week course will take you through the techniques, tools, and supplies to successfully paint using watercolor. Each student will have the opportunity to complete at least four watercolor paintings using a range of techniques and effects that are unique to watercolor painting. These included wet on dry, wet on wet, washes, dry brush, splattering, sponging, layering, masking, lifting, subtractive scratch off, special effects using salt, plastic wrap, alcohol, and more. Students will also learn fundamental drawing skills to improve both their sketching abilities and the quality of their watercolor paintings.

Instructor: Dylan Stewart

Dylan Stewart is a painter, illustrator, graphic designer and owner of Inspyr Arts Education. He has designed and illustrated a range of projects for 20th Century Fox Television, Best Buy, The Food Network, Emmy Magazine, Dermalogica, and several other major brands. Dylan has worked as a costume illustrator, most notably for Emmy winning costume designer Wendy Benbrook. Currently, Dylan teaches fine arts, illustration, and graphic design at Inspyr Arts while continuing to study oil painting under master portrait artist, Andrea Mosley.
